A Little Update On What To Expect Next!

Hey Everyone!

I have some epic news for you all, which will be explained in this video! *gasps*

So yes, I am now including a video segment to my blog posts! Don't worry, I'll still be writing as much as I usually do, just now you'll hear me actually speaking about my week/life.
Hope you enjoy, I am really excited about this new part of my blog!

Ps, please don't judge my hair, I was having a ''natural day'' where I didn't straighten/blowdry my hair! It's like having Hobbit hair!

An Extremely Weird Week!

Hello Everyone!

So as you can probably tell, I had a very, very weird and random week! Sit down, grab some popcorn and Maltesers (amazing combination to eat at the cinema) and let me tell you all about it (but this isn't the cinema, sorry)

So it all started on Monday with 'The Great Kate Wait' My Mam ran into my room, 7.30am screaming to get on Twitter, ''KATE'S GONE INTO LABOUR WITH THE ROYAL BABY' so consequently, I spent all the morning refreshing my Twitter with my mother and a thirst for knowledge about the Royal Baby. We also watched Kay Burley losing the plot on Sky News which was quite hilarious.

I left in the afternoon to socialise with some friends, thoroughly exhausted after spending hours upon hours watching Sky News and refreshing Twitter, in a constant quest for non existent information! It was good to see some of my friends, a few others weren't able to go or are in a different social circle. It felt kind of strange being with people my own age, as for the past nearly 2 months I've been with people in work a lot older than me. It felt weird as the types of conversations we had were completely different to the conversations in work, it's difficult to put my finger on what was so different.

Perhaps it was the fact that maybe I've become accustomed to being in a more adult (not being sinister saying adult) working environment, with responsibilities, people depending/trusting me to do my work correctly and to the best specifications. This situation was different.

So I worked during the week too, which I don't mind, my bank account is looking better than ever! On Friday I bought a Doctor Who sonic screwdriver! It's Eleven's screwdriver and I love it. Yes, I'm nearly seventeen and spend some of my money on payday on a screwdriver, yes, mature aren't I? It's currently held in my TARDIS pen holder, what I need next is a Matt Smith cut-out! Anyone want to donate one? ;)

I also finished my back to school things on Friday too, I collected my school blazer and a German book. My heart sank as I realised that I am going back to school, that I won't be working until at least next summer and that it's going to be a lot of hard work, not just buying a blazer! As I was in Transition Year last year, I've started to jog my memory about various subjects so I won't be sitting there sobbing in September about how I used to remember all the work but don't now! It's not going to be fun, alas, like everything, it will be worth it in the long run!

On Saturday (today) I didn't have badminton so I had a lie-in for the first time in what felt like forever! I went downtown later on and bought myself some new whiteboard markers! (I had run out, devastating indeed) I got multiple colours, so what do I do with them? Write quotes on my whiteboard of course! (Pictures below!)

JOHN GREEN BOOKS UPDATE!
I finished 'An Abundance of Katherine's'' last week! I really enjoyed it, not as much as 'Looking for Alaska'' or TFIOS but I liked it all the same, it was light hearted, exactly what I needed after reading emotionally heavier books like Looking for Alaska and TFIOS. Due to work and everything I haven't been able to read much of 'Paper Towns' which is a crying shame as I'm loving it so far! I think boys would enjoy Paper Towns alot, as it's from a boys POV, I'm still enjoying it regardless!

It's actually quite difficult trying to write on the board, left handed problems

A quote from possibly my favourite poem ever.

Shopping & Heatwaves!

Hey Everyone,

this week again the weather is simply stunning. Officially we're in drought! Even the grass on the Emerald Isle is turning brown! The horror. I was working for most of the gorgeous weather but I did get outside every once in a while. I tan quite easily, well for an Irish person, so I'm looking quite brown right now which I'm quite proud of. I had some random adventures this week, so overall it was a fun week.

On Friday, my day off this week, I went shopping with my Mam and my older brother (he wasn't socially awkward for once, woo) to a shopping centre in a town around 25 minutes or so away. We went to a good few shops (photos of what I bought are below) and we stopped off for frappuccinos which were simply delicious in the heat. (It was 83% humidity, scary for Ireland)

My brother is quite fussy and refuses to eat cream, butter or drink a glass of milk, so I told him that frapp's were made from ice cream (because I'm evil and he's not allergic to dairy products, he's just a fussy University student!) so he got one and devoured it! He said ''The ice cream was amazing in that, it was so fluffy it was crazy!'' So I told him it was cream, his facial expression was just priceless.

I also went into another shop and bought a new notebook (where I go my last one around a year ago, it's nearly full now too! *sob*) and a peacock memo pad with a cute brooch on the front. I have an obsession with stationery, I adore looking at cute notebooks with quirky designs on them. I love buying new notebooks (for own use, not school related) letters, and more. I have an adorable hardback with cupcakes on the back and front, I simply love it.

I went into Eason's too, (an amazing bookshop if you don't know) and bought Delirium, it looks really good! It's written by Lauren Oliver who also wrote ''Before I Fall'' which I really want to read too. I won't be starting Delirium for a while at least as I want to finish my John Green books first. UPDATE: I read Looking for Alaska, it was just stunning, I cried so hard reading it.

I'm nearly finished An Abundance of Katherine's, it was something different and I actually somewhat enjoyed all the maths in the book! (I'm horrendous at maths and I'm doing Honours Maths in Leaving Cert, this will be fun) After 'An Abundance of Katherine's'' I'll read Paper Towns then Will Grayson Will Grayson or vice versa. I must say John Green books are all special pages of literature indeed, they're so precious and beautiful.

Oh and on another John Green note, I have been sticking quotes on the walls beside my impromptu ''John Green book Shrine'' which I started as a joke with my brother and also with Grace aka Dainty Sprinkles! So far there's 25 or so quotes stuck on the walls and more will be added as I read Will Grayson, Will Grayson and Paper Towns. I have no life at all have I?

The Roxy website had a sale on recently so I bought some things, which finally arrived on Monday (woop woop) I was home alone at the time so I had to sign for them, which is fine, except if you're left handed! However I got all my things and they're just amazing. I ordered a new wallet, a pink Roxy t shirt and I got a new school bag (I have an obsession with Roxy bags, every one of my school bags since starting in secondary school have been Roxy, they last very well too, would definitely recommend!)

Oh and another brilliant thing occurred during the week. This blog, my blog, reached 4,000 views! At the moment it's nearly 4,200 which is just, surreal! So thank you all so much, I owe you all. I still have a few more idea's up my sleeve which I will tell you all about in good time so keep reading about my random tales!

My things from Roxy! (To say I was excited was an understatement)

The John Green Book Shrine! (Now with 25 quotes for being philosophical)

My frappuccino from Costa (the nearest Starbucks is in Dublin *sob*)

The front of my new notebook! Doesn't it look amazing? I love it so far.

My new notebook!

My new memo pad, I love the brooch on the front (it's also magnetic and keeps the pages together)

The inside, all my notes are going to be covered in peacocks!

A Roxy bag I got in TK Maxx down from 38 euro to 6, so far I've used it to carry my books, earphones, phone and sunglasses case to the garden and make sure they don't get lost!

An adorable cupcake case I got too, let's hope I don't eat it! ;)

What my afternoon consisted of yesterday in the glorious sunshine

A bad photo of my tan, but yeah, I'm that brown now.

It's a HEATWAVE!

Hey Everyone!

Hope you're all keeping well in this simply beautiful weather. Here in Ireland the temperatures are soaring in the 20-30 degrees Celsius mark! Something which is really rare here to be honest. As I live in the 'Sunny South East' we have been enjoying the best of the weather.

I have been slightly creative and hyper this week, probably due to the brilliant weather, so this week I'll be telling you more about my kind of artistic side. Just so you all know, I never did Art subjects in school, I never studied them as exam subjects or anything. It's just that I have a lot of artistic family members for some reason! (We all think it came from my grandfather, I am said to have his hands because I'm double jointed)

So, I have this pen holder, I've had it since I was around six or seven. However I was looking at it during the week and thought it was a little outdated for a nearly seventeen year old student! I have a love for Doctor Who (Yes, I am a Whovian!) so I decided, due to it's shape, to design it like the Tardis!

I measured the holder and measured everything out equally, using the Tardis above my desk as a guide (It's the 11th Doctors Tardis, Matt Smith's one) I sat at my desk, listening to Taylor Swift's album, Red and just simply drew the 4 sides of the Tardis, I can't quite explain it, but I completely immersed myself in the task, I listened to the entire album during the process.

I must say I'm quite proud of how well it turned out seeing as I'm don't credit myself as being artistic or mathematical (for the measurements and accuracy of the squares) as I feel I don't possess those traits. Perhaps I proved myself wrong!

In other news, I ordered 4 John Green books, (I already have TFIOS) and they arrived on Friday. I started with ''Looking for Alaska'' I won't spoil the book, but, I cried, and for a long time! There's something so beautiful, poetic and heartbreaking about John Green's books, I can't quite put my finger on it. However it's SOMETHING and really gave me alot to think about.

I'm reading An Abundance of Katherine's next I think, hopefully it won't be as sad as Looking for Alaska and TFIOS. I haven't started it yet as this afternoon I was at a local Patron. For those of you who are lucky enough to have never attended a Patron (pronounced Pattern) it's basically where you go to a graveyard at a specific date and time and a mass for the deceased is held. You wear good clothes, put flowers on the grave of your loved one (today it was my grandfather on my dad's side, who passed away a year before I was born) so I attended with my parents and brother. I wore a blue and white dress (I took some selfies on my phone for you all as I felt bad about taking non at the wedding last week) so I attended the Patron and it was fine.
An awkward selfie of my dress ..

Maybe I shouldn't upload this but okay, here's the dress, if anyone's wondering where it's from, it's from Penneys and I'm not sure how much it cost, I recycled the tag before I could check! But it wouldn't have been much as it's from Penneys (Primark for those in the UK)

The before photo of my pen holder ! It was quite girly and suited a 6 year old me VERY well!

A during photo of the drawing of the Tardis!

An After photo!

Side view of my now customised pen holder! Very proud of myself.

The John Green books arrived!

As a joke with my brother and also Grace (DaintySprinkles) I made a John Green book SHRINE. I even have a chocolate muffin candle there too! (Below it is some things I got in London)

A close up of my JG Book Shrine, did I mention I even made the cupboard? I'm a little too proud of it.. :)

So that's it for this week!

Ps. Just thought I'd say R.I.P. Cory Monteith, who played Finn in Glee. Back when I was 12-15 I used to watch Glee religiously and needless to say, he was my favourite character. Glee was also one of the first fandoms I was in and will always remain in my heart. I even had posters of Cory all over my bedroom walls. I was so upset to hear the news of his death this morning. My thoughts are with his family, friends, the Glee cast and in particular Lea Michele. Stay Strong guys x

PPS! The Blog Awards Ireland are still taking in nominations! Find the deets on my page under ''Contact Me & More!'' If you could vote for me or any of my blogging friends it would be amazing! Thank you x

Life Lessons

Hey Everyone!

This is just an idea I concocted in work over the past few days and is similar to the trail of thought I've been thinking in the past few days. It's about what you can achieve with your life and how to make it happen, I think. I'm still not quite sure, but I have my earphones in listening to Paramore so it should be philosophical.

This very minute, the very second you're reading this seemingly useless and unimportant blogpost (which it probably is in the long run) could change your life for ever. In one split second, you can change everything, whether it's by wiping the slate clean or escalating further into an abyss of trouble (I don't know what you're all personally like but okay) but YOU can change your life path in mere seconds. It's all about decisions.

It's difficult trying to type exactly what has been reverberating in my head, into one clear linear line, apologies if any of this sounds disjointed, trust me it will be. I mean you can  do so many amazing things in your life, the possibilities are simply endless. You can get inspired or get depressed, it's your choice, ( that sounds so disgustingly blunt) you can ace a test or fail a class. It only takes a split second to change, possibly your entire existence, you're MEANING for an existence, everything you believed was important, your reasoning for your actions and life. Everything can be changed in the blink of an eye.

So basically, you can fall in love or fall in hate. That one little moment you look at someone can decide everything. You can either love that person, or hate them. A split second choice, a label even. (Another rant on labels is needed) That decides your entire relationship with that person, how you treat them, interact with them, everything. All because of that split second choice you made once you saw them.

You can speak the truth, or lie and cheat. Tell the truth, be accepting of the consequences, or lie and cheat, feeling the even deeper repercussions for doing such a thing. Lying and cheating really doesn't get you anywhere, especially at the expense of someone else. That one person then receives the treatment you should have received for lying, cheating and deceiving. All because of your one second decision, something can change your life or perhaps, most dangerously, the life of another person

Another huge thing I believe is trust. It's hard gained and so easily lost. You think you can know a person, however you can be so incredibly incorrect. That person you may have had trust in, can so easily lose/break that. It's scary really, how one little action can cause that loss. ONE action, one decision a person makes, can change their future regarding you for forever.

Life is crazy, I know that by now. I once said to my friend Thyra that, ''Life is a roller coaster, we shall scream the whole way through' but perhaps it is difficult to enjoy it constantly. I once believed that happiness in life was a destination, but, when I look back on everything, it's not. It's a way of travelling through your life. It's how you get through everything life puts you to the test on. To be honest, the only thing you can do is embrace life, it can be so difficult, especially when life puts you down. Especially when it's by a person, but you have to embrace the divine chaos that life can be. The more interesting and varied your life is, the more experiences you will have. The more lessons learnt, more methods with coping on those dark listless days. Ways to help you be happier in your journey that is your life. You only get one shot, it's up to you, to make it count.

Oh and, on another note. Be positive. Even in your darkest moments, think of something that you're looking forward to, even if it's a bar of chocolate or a programme on television. ANYTHING. To keep you focused on your life, and more importantly, not to end it.

This is what terrifies me most about life, how easy it is for your possible reasons of existence to alter themselves, it scares me endlessly.

Sorry for this random post, it's just been echoing in my head for days,
Stay Strong, Happy and Fearless

On The Farm!

Hey Everyone!

This is just a random blog post about an afternoon I spent on the farm. As I'm Irish and it's stereotypical that you know someone who is a farmer or at least acts like one, I thought I'd prove that stereotype correct! The farm is owned by my uncle (my Dad's older brother) I also visited my lovely Nana there too. She's 92 and awesome.

I call her a hipster because she always compliments my shoes, which are always a different pair of Converse. It was a really hot day and I very stupidly wore a pair of black skinny jeans, pink low top Converse, a turquoise cardigan and a flowered little top. Not what you wear on a farm. I usually wear my Dunlop wellies. (I help milk the cattle and feed the calves)

So I basically chatted with Nana, walked around as usual and took some photos on my phone. I forgot my camera. Every Summer I take photos around the farm, I'll root out a photo I love of the river going past one of the fields!

Oh and for beauty bloggers reading this, I bought a new pair of Converse! These are my ninth pair. I am so addicted to wearing Converse it's getting frightening..

A random photo of my OOTD

Here's one I took, believe it or not, TWO years ago! On a terrible Samsung Tocco Lite! :)

Just a random little update!

Another Week Of Summer! ASDFGHJKL

Hey Everyone!

This week was really random, busy and weird! Only way to describe it to be honest! I was in work (as usual!) most of the week, which I don't mind. I have to say it's great having some independence and getting paid every week. Just now, I ordered four John Green books, ''Paper Towns'', ''An Abundance of Katherines'', ''Will Grayson, Will Grayson'' and also ''Looking For Alaska''. I bought TFIOS in London back in March as it's IMPOSSIBLE to find any John Green books in Ireland for some reason. I read (devoured) the book on the hour long flight home, and cried. Yes, it's taken nearly 4 months to read more John Green books. What can I say? I am such a procrastinator.

But my week wasn't all about John Green books! (I'm currently watching the Wimbledon final, come on Andy Murray!) On Friday, I was at my cousin Barry's house as another cousin of mine was getting married and we were invited to the evening part of the wedding.

So I would like to apologise now, I was meant to take a few photos of my outfit for all you beauty bloggers.. but I didn't. I completely forgot as I lost my phone in my cousins house (not bragging but his house is massive) as I was on the way to the hotel and I freaked. I soon found it, but I had to run to the car so couldn't take any photos, so I'M SO SORRY EVERYONE.

Apart from that hiccup, the evening was great. Everyone looked amazing to say the least. However it was slightly awkward when a teacher from my school was also at the wedding. She never taught me or anything, but still, it was weird. However it was to be expected because my cousin Joey and his now wife Natalie are both teachers! A match made in education, haha.

I got home at 2am and very stupidly went to badminton at 10am. I could barely hit the shuttlecock but I was forgiven as they didn't expect me to turn up! :) Overall it was good, seeing as it was the first badminton session in over 2 weeks.

Afterwards myself, Vivien, Evan, Brian and my brother Noel, went for a drive in Brian's new car and drove all over the local area, myself and Vivi chatting about how to tell the difference between Jack and Finn Harries! We drove back into town and saw a huge old style bus painted red and a local radio station there too, right on the Main Street. (Yes, the main street of the town is called the Main Street, clearly we're a creative town)
The front garden at my cousin's house, I forgot to take a photo of the pond at the front!

Barry's piano, I giggled because I thought of the saying ''So kawaii''

Another photo taken from the front window..

Viv and I saw this in the local supermarket, people are that desperate to find their name on a bottle!

The bus we got on, SO HOT UP THERE.

The bus from afar, they even gave us balloon swords, little sweets and tried to use facepaint on our faces! (We were 13,16 and 19-20 by the way)

An Oreo cupcake I bought in a local Café, mmm Oreo's...
(Awkwardly saw a lorry driver from the business I work for in there too, awkward)

Ps, congratulations to AmazingPhil (Phil Lester) on YouTube for reaching 1 million subscribers, so proud to say I'm a Phillion! Oh and did anyone else see Danisnotonfire's (Dan Howell) new hairstyle? Thoughts?

So that's it for this week, Stay Strong, Happy and Fearless,

Day 3! What People Misunderstand The Most About Me..

So to start with, I'm so sorry  I haven't been blogging!! :( I was working practically all week and simply didn't have enough time to blog about anything! I'm in my cousins house at the moment using his iPad, which is pretty savage I must say. After this I'm going to m other cousins wedding so that will be fun. Ill try take as many photos of the evening part as possible and post them in my weekly post!

So as you can see, it's Day 3. What people misunderstand most about me. To be honest when I looked at the title this morning, my heart sank slightly. There's some elements of my life which I've kept quiet and yet, I've spoken openly about here on this blog. This is going to a deep topic, I just know it! As I type this I honestly have no idea what to write about.

In a way, there's so much people don't know about me, and in another, especially here, you know nearly too much about me. But, as I sit here listening to Kodaline and typing whatever comes into my mind, I realise, that STILL, the thing everyone misunderstands about me the most is why I can be honest and open with people I barely know, I'm not sure what it is, but I able to open up to people I know only very slightly for some reason.

It really is a serious flaw (among many, many I possess) I have, so much so, for a while I simply stopped talking to new people. in case I said too much and freaked people out with my honesty, something I really don't want to do as I actually like people occasionally!

This flaw revealed itself yet again only a few days ago, which made me realise its a huge flaw I possess. I can't really go into details with this one particular incident, as it is somewhat personal and also slightly relates to the workplace, sorry!

However it also brings me onto the honesty I convey on this blog, there are people from America, Russia, Australia, China, UK, everywhere! Reading this blog and probably know more about me, a small town girl  in Ireland and you all probably know more about me than most of my peers in school! Is that a little crazy? ;) Possibly.

See what I mean? My honesty is my weakness in many ways, and is definitely the most misunderstanding I receive from others. People think I am a dramatic, attention seeking person when, to be honest, (oh the irony) I'm too honest!

So that's it for now, I'll be writing soon!
Stay Strong, Happy and Fearless,
Aveen xx
